April 22, 2022 Ep. 95 - Because We Got High
On this week's episode, the boys are celebrating 420 and also attempting to talk sports. A couple Wide Receivers are making news in the NFL by holding out for new contracts. With the Draft just 1 week away Deebo Samuel is making trade demands. The USFL plays there first week and the stat lines are very underwhelming. Couto has a date to look forward to as the NHL sets the Draft Lottery for May 10th. The Leafs make history with their 50th win and 108th point of the season (both Franchise highs). There are a number of 100pt scorers already this year with a couple additional trying to get over the hump as the race for the final playoff spots in the West heats up. We've decided that Pujols is looking like Couto on the basepaths these days, Miguel Cabrera is 1 hit away from joining the 3000 hit club, the Oakland A's are drawing less fans than some minor league teams and Hosk gives an update on his Blue Jays betting model. The NBA playoffs are in full swing, the Raps are in tough against the 76ers, the West matchup seem to be the ones to watch and the boys watch on as the Raps go to OT in Game 3. Hosk has stuff to talk about including Jordan Speith winning on Easter Sunday for the 2nd year in a row, Dylan Fritelli introduces us to another of Golf's ridiculous rules, Villanova head coach Jay Wright announces his retirement and we recap the last week of play on Survivor and Big Brother Canada.

Hosk and Couto have stuff to talk about including a full 2-night Wrestlemania Recap, The Toronto Raptors clinch a Top 6 seed in the playoffs and Lebron and the Lakers are officially eliminated. Tiger Woods is back for this week's Master Tournament and that means we have a Masters Fantasy draft (with Jones on Autodraft). No Jones means no grill - so that's it.

On this week's episode we talk about the impact Scott Hall made on professional wrestling. We get into the start of the NFL offseason highlighted by Tom Brady's unretirement and frenzy of free agent signings. The MLB owners and players reached a deal, so the league is now rushing to get players in camp and up to speed, filling rosters and getting ready to PLAY BALL. The Jays add Chapman and Kikuchi as well as we review the other big names on the move. The NHL Trade Deadline goes Monday but we review a handful of deals that have already taken place ahead of time. As well, Auston Matthews receives a 2 game suspension for cross-checking Dahlin in the neck and it has us in discussion about the standards of the Department of Player Safety and the seemingly inconsistency between suspension vs. non-suspension and how many games for each infraction. Hosk’s got stuff to talk about including a recap of the Players Championship and the boys tournament picks results, we make our March Madness Final Four picks and recap the first episode of Survivor and the last week of gameplay in the Big Brother Canada house.
