Are you making sacrifices to other ‘gods’?

In what ways are you so comfortable, you forget your need for God?

Are you willing to have God heal your waywardness?

Read Hosea 11-12

Habakkuk 2:3

Do you have a heritage of God-seekers? Do you have a time in your past where you were closer to God?

Think about the times God has been faithful to you, whether or not you were following Him.

Do you tend towards mercy or justice? How do you think you need to adjust to God’s standards?

What are you waiting on God for? Do you trust Him in that?

Read Hosea 9-10

Revelation 6:15-17

What rewards do you get from continuing in your sin?

What is your attitude towards the spiritual leaders in your life?

Meditate on 10:12. How can you sow righteousness today? What is the fruit of unfailing love? What are your stumbling blocks to unfailing love for God? What areas of your life have you withheld from God’s ‘breaking up’? If you let Him in, what could He grow?

Read Hosea 7-8

2 Peter 3:8-15

Isaiah 13:11

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

What are some examples you see where personal spiritual knowledge has taken the place of God in our society?

Have you, or people you know, rejected God’s wisdom in the Bible for what they think is most right?

Have you seen a small sin have big consequences?

Spend some time quietly sitting with God. Ask Him to reveal for which sins described in Hosea 7-8 you need to repent. Listen for how He would have you change.

Read Hosea 5-6

Job 31:24-28

What gives you security? What do you tend to trust?

What are you grateful for today? How can you cultivate the habit of gratefulness?

What boundary lines do you see our society pushing? Ask God if there’s any way you can help hold those boundaries.

Meditate on Hosea 6:6 today, asking God how He would have you practice mercy and acknowledgement.

How has your sin made your life hard?

What is your motivation for obeying God?

Ask God to ‘dissect your heart’ and show you areas you need to repent.

In the Bible, read the book of Hosea 2; and Psalm 136.

What do you idolize? How do you struggle with the sins of being unfaithful to God, of being ungrateful to Him, of making things your ‘gods’?

What are the promises God makes in Hosea 2:14-23? Which one speaks to your heart?
