9/25/16. Week 4 in the Gospel of Mark. Jesus entered into many controversies and brought God's clarity to the situation.

Ever wonder why "the Son of many came eating and drinking?" And why He spent so much time with people of poor reputation, like tax collectors and "sinners"?

He came to rescue sinners, and give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:42-45). Could it be that they too had something to offer Him, even if not as great of value of what He offered them?

9/18/16. Week 3 in the Gospel of Mark. What was the secret to Jesus' perfectly intentional life? How was He able to enter into every situation and not be overwhelmed?

Was it just because He's God, or was His humanity also at work on the earth?

Notice how Jesus draws His full worth — identity and affirmation — from His Father. And this deep acceptance fuels His desire to invest more time personally with God the Father. Out of this constant relationship came everything He said and did.

If Jesus the Son of God needed to pray, how much more shall we need prayer time like this?

9/11/16. Week 2 in the Gospel of Mark. What do people need more: physical healing or eternal forgiveness?

Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’?

Jesus asked that question, and then proved He can do both!

We heard an update from Paul Hunter, director of Next Generation Ministries, on their continuing work in Uganda. The stories and truths he shared with us help us grasp the significance and opportunities of partnering with them as "a river of relationships connecting resources to needs."

8/14/16. Week 6 of Summer Psalms series "Songs of Strength" and the eighth week of our Summer journey with the Story Catechism (chapter twelve: MULTIPLY). King David felt alone, like he was in solitary confinement to his circumstances, and defenseless. It's chaos on every side.

He responded —as we read in Psalm 86 — to this situation by leading his heart on a journey through a known land: the path back to God, reminding himself over and over who God is. This is the song of the united heart.

8/7/16. Week 5 of Summer Psalms series "Songs of Strength" and the seventh week of our Summer journey with the Story Catechism (chapter fourteen: JESUS IS BETTER). We had a tremendous time at Family Camp as the Renew Church Family (August 5th–7th).
