Into the Wild

This week we sat down with graduating seniors Emma Ceislik, Morgan Billington, Maggie Dubus, Maddy Hwang, Catherine Joy, Dylan Allen, Will Olson, and Matt Davenport to reminisce on their time with Into the Wild, learn about their most formative moments, and discuss what lies ahead for the future! We are so lucky to have had such amazing seniors guide us through a unique and challenging year, and we wish them the best in their next adventures. Stay wild. 

This week we sat down with Into the Wild alumni Julia Jenak to talk about her post-grad experience, how she stays connected to nature and to hear any wisdom/advice she has.

This week we sat down with Dr. Steele, Dylan Stegman, Matt Davenport, and Emma Cieslik to talk about their most recent trip in the backcountry split boarding. Dr. Steele is a professor in the philosophy department at SCU specializing in the history of philosophy and ethics. He is also an avid outdoor adventurer, who spends much of his free time snowboarding mountaineering, and mountain biking. 

This week we sat down with Pierce Klinke, a talented remote-location cinematographer and photographer who has dedicated his career to producing exceptional art in the backcountry to learn more about his career path and time in Into the Wild at SCU.

This week we sat down with Alex Wells, a junior at Dartmouth College, where he studies cognitive science and human-centered design. Alex spends as much time as he possibly can outside hiking, biking, and visiting the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge. Alex has been involved with the hiking club at Dartmouth, Cabin and Trail, and is currently one of two current chairs of the club. This week we sat down with Simone Wolberg, an environmental studies graduate and TEDx speaker with a passion for public health and environmental sustainability, to hear more about her time at Santa Clara with Into the Wild back in 2015. 

This week we sat down with Julia, Hannah, and Diego, who were participants on Into the Wild’s spring break trip to Kaua’i to hear more about their experience hiking the notorious Kalalau trail. 

This week we sat down with ultramarathon runner, recovering addict, and motivational speaker Charlie Engle to inquire about his incredible expeditions and experience with mental health and how they have shaped him into the person he is today.
