Introducing NASAs astronaut class of 2025

NASA formally introduced its 2025 astronaut candidate class on September 22, 2025. The 10 individuals—six women and four men—were chosen from a pool of more than 8,000 applicants and are expected to join missions to the International Space Station, the moon, and eventually, Mars. 
The newly selected astronauts, also known as "ASCANS," began their two-year training at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston in September 2025.
