He writes a general letter to them instructing them in a number of areas. He begins with a Prayer of Praise in 1:3-14. Interesting is the fact that these verses in the Greek text are one long sentence. This emphasizes unity. Within these verses He praises God Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for all He has done for us in Christ.
