After a somewhat long pause, during which time Hugo Rodier, M.D., participated as a host on Inalienable and Free, another New Galaxy Broadcast, he returns to pilot Integrative Hermetic Health, a broadcast featuring the vital concerns he has over American and world health issues. Even as a medical student- and before medical research began to popularly and powerfully validate the importance of nutrition in the public mind, Dr. Rodier believed, going back to the ancient dictum of Hippocrates that “Food is Medicine.”

Now, an Integrative Physician, Dr. Rodier believes that most often nutritional problems often form the basis of most illness. But he also realizes there are times when conventional medicine can fill the gap as well as a wide array of other disciplines, neglected in the past by the medical profession but now seriously addressed by integrative medicine which believes that herbal medicine, acupressure, chiropractic and other disciplines have their place in the healing arts. In this program, Doctor Rodier describes his journey to a more complete awareness of the foundations of real healing and how the revolutionary emergence of Integrative Medicines offers a blessing to persons struggling with illness.

He also definitely warns against practitioners in this field succumbing to the temptation to put profits over genuine healing, a temptation that has fallen to by the pharmaceutical profession and the many doctors who have so crowded out the general practitioner with their expensive specialties that the modern practice of medicine is often short-sighted, lacking the wisdom of those in a more general practices that do not confine their work to a very specific physiological system with a limited range of remedies. In this broadcast, we also discuss Doctor Rodier’s interest in Hermetic Science and its unexpected value in understanding the healing arts today.

In this show, Hugo Rodier, M.D., an integrative physician with a deep concern about the availability of productive, truly curative healing modalities, discusses the philosophy of this new paradigm of medical science, integrative medicine. Dr. Rodier takes to heart the counsel of both Hippocrates, truly the father of medicine for thousands of years and Doctor William Osler, often called the Father of Modern Medicine. Dr. Rodier reminds us that Hippocrates said, “Food is Medicine,” an understanding that William Osler most undoubtedly grasped. Dr. Osler enjoined the medical world that a great doctor focuses on healing the patient and not just focusing on the symptoms of a specific condition.

To assist in this process, inspired by a recent bestseller, How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci- Seven Steps to Genius Every Day by author, Michael J. Gelb, Dr. Rodier advises his listeners to think creatively in the manner of the multi-faceted genius. Further, Dr. Rodier discusses the role of polarized thinking, as it applies to integrative medicine, the general medicine field and the core aspects of human consciousness- with a wide application to everything human beings do and think about. To this end, he advises our listeners to how to choose health care in a beneficial way, apart from the medical and health disinformation that abounds in the high dollar world of conventional medicine and the commercial pharmaceutical world. Dr. Rodier continually keeps in touch with many new medical findings, which he recounts in his monthly review of contemporary medical journal articles. Find out about these blogs- and many others- by visiting his website at www.hugorodier.com. Dr. Rodier is available at his office, but also can do phone consultations, if needed and useful.

Hermetic Science has led to some rather speculative concepts of anti-aging, including the paradigm of ancient alchemical processes that can lead to a much more extensive life spans, including the belief in a rather startling transformation of the body- resembling in some fashion concepts like translation, transfiguration and ascension. One example that is discussed is the story of Nicholas Flammel and his wife, whose contributions to the Church after their alleged death seriously trumped Flammel’s probably livelihood as a scrivener, a professional copier of manuscripts- meaning that Flamel was thought to have learned the alchemical secret of changing lead to gold- but moreso, the contention that years after their passing, a traveler supposedly found evidence that they did, indeed, still survive and flourish.

The modern science of medicine- in its current practical application- focuses somewhat on nutrition but many times on the consumptions of excessive amounts of hormones. In the program, Dr. Rodier analyzes the claims of so-called “life extension experts” and suggests that some of the common practices have problematical side effects that deflate their intrinsic health value. He suggests the more appropriate nutritional means to obtain successful life extension. Dr. Rodier keeps in touch with many new medical findings, which he recounts in his monthly review of contemporary medical journal articles.
