Dr. Inna Conboy speaks with Dr. Katrina Garvey. Dr. Katrina Garvey is a psychiatrist with a diverse career spanning inpatient, academic, correctional, and coaching settings. A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, she completed her psychiatry residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas before beginning her career in a large private hospital. She later joined the University of Colorado at Anschutz, and today she serves as the psychiatrist for the Colorado Department of Corrections’ residential treatment facility, where she specializes in diagnostic evaluations of complex psychiatric cases, including psychopathy and personality disorders.

Dr. Garvey is also passionate about medical education, teaching medical students through the CU Colorado Springs campus, and a two-time recipient of the university’s teaching award. Beyond her clinical and academic work, she is the founder of The Signature Self coaching practice, with a focus on empowering parents to raise children without fear.

She lives in Colorado Springs with her husband and three children, and in her free time she enjoys running, gardening, yoga, traveling, reading, and puzzling.
