Ray Crowley Interviews Craig Nicol, CEO of Graphene Manufacturing Group
In this episode of Investment Research Radio, Ray sits down with Craig Nicol, Founder, CEO and Managing Director of Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. (TSXV: GMG) (OTC: GMGMF) (Frankfurt: 0GF), to discuss the evolution of GMG from a graphene producer into a vertically integrated advanced materials and energy technology company.
The conversation explores five interconnected assets and potential revenue streams built around GMG's proprietary graphene platform:
1. Graphene Raw Material Craig explains GMG's proprietary graphene manufacturing technology and the recent commissioning of its Gen 2.0 production plant, designed to produce up to 10 tonnes of graphene annually once fully optimized. The in-house production capability gives GMG control over material quality, supply and cost while providing the foundation for its downstream products.
2. THERMAL-XR® The discussion then moves to GMG's commercial energy savings business. THERMAL-XR® is a graphene enhanced coating designed to improve heat transfer and protect HVAC and industrial heat exchange equipment. With US EPA approval, North American distribution through Nu-Calgon and record June 2026 sales orders exceeding A$400,000, this represents GMG's most immediate commercial revenue opportunity.
3. G® LUBRICANT Ray and Craig discuss GMG's graphene lubricant additive, designed to reduce friction, fuel consumption and emissions in engines and other industrial applications. GMG has reported independently verified fuel efficiency improvements of up to 8.4% in diesel engine testing. The opportunity is to build recurring product revenue through distributors and industrial customers.
4. SUPA G® Battery Material The fourth layer of the business is GMG's proprietary graphene slurry for lithium ion batteries. Rather than having to manufacture an entire battery, SUPA G® potentially allows GMG to sell a specialized material into existing battery manufacturing supply chains. This creates another pathway to monetize the graphene platform while battery manufacturers evaluate performance improvements.
5. G CELLS™ Graphene Aluminium Ion Battery Finally, the conversation looks at GMG's highest value and longest term opportunity: its graphene aluminium ion battery technology. Developed with the University of Queensland and supported by Australian government funding, the technology is being advanced toward larger cells, manufacturing processes and eventual commercialization. This could ultimately move GMG from selling materials and additives into supplying an entire next generation energy storage technology.
Ray and Craig discuss how these five assets create a layered commercialization strategy: produce the raw material, sell graphene enabled products, supply graphene into other manufacturers' batteries, and ultimately develop GMG's own battery technology.
The conversation also looks ahead to GMG's expansion into North America and Europe, additional industrial applications, data centre cooling, strategic partnerships and the potential for modular graphene production facilities. Craig explains how the company's near term focus is converting commercial product adoption into revenue while continuing to invest in the much larger battery opportunity.
The central investment story is therefore not simply graphene production alone. It is GMG's attempt to build an integrated materials platform where one proprietary graphene manufacturing capability supports multiple products, and multiple revenue streams.
