Today we present AIXTRON SE | Guido Pickert | Head of Investor Relations
The SURF ERA Surf Park concept is based on a modular system. Our clients pick the desired additional facilities that complement the wave pool – the consistent feature in every Surf Park. We will provide a concept that is tailored to a broad variety of locations, environments and climates.
Our key goal is to build a unique place for the visitors while keeping low operational and embodied energy at the forefront of the process. In general, our intention is to make surfing more popular and accessible to everyone by bringing the sport and lifestyle to landlocked areas of the world.
Disclaimer:
The SURF ERA surf and leisure park takes advantage of the emerging sport and life- style of surfing as a visitor magnet and opens its services to an expanded range of customers. Additional offers and services include sports, wellness, recreation, accommodation, events, F&B as well as shops and co-working spaces.
Furthermore, the surf and leisure park is to become a base for German surfing athletes.
This would increase Berlin's chances of hosting upcoming Summer Olympics in surfing (i.e. 2032).
The park can be entered purchasing a ticket.
There are numerous different ticket options for every type of visitor. SURF ERA plans to welcome 550,000 visitors per year, who generate an average turnover of EUR 31.40.
Added to that is annual income from letting space to operating partners (restaurants and hotels) and the sale of naming rights to the surf and leisure park. This results in an annual turnover and an EBITDA of around EUR 20 and 2.4 million, respectively.
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) will be established for both the realisation and operation, which are linked by a contractual relationship. Thus, the return expectations of investors at the level of the holding company (SPV) should be met through the income from annual rental payments of the operating company (SPV).
