India Capital Growth Fund Limited (IGC:LSE) delivered an in-depth investor presentation highlighting its 20-year track record, strategic focus on India’s mid and small-cap equity markets, and long-term value creation approach. Principal adviser Gaurav Narain detailed India’s macroeconomic transformation, driven by demographic strength, political stability, digital infrastructure, and consistent reforms under the Modi-led government. India’s economy, now the world’s fourth largest at $4 trillion, is projected to sustain real GDP growth of 6–7% with rising consumption, infrastructure investment, and corporate capex. Despite temporary headwinds—including tightened liquidity, inflation, and trade tariffs—the outlook remains robust with fiscal deficit reduction, record forex reserves, and improving earnings growth. The fund’s portfolio is built around quality management, free cash flow generation, and high return on capital, with core holdings in consistent compounders such as PI Industries and Balkrishna Industries. Currently, 67% of holdings are in small caps and over 60% of the portfolio has been held for more than five years, reflecting its disciplined, bottom-up approach. The trust has outperformed the MSCI India Index over the long term and compounded at roughly 13.5% annually since 2011. Management reaffirmed its confidence in India’s long-term growth story and the fund’s positioning to benefit from continued economic expansion, digital acceleration, and increasing domestic investment flows.
