Money20/20
This past week, we attended one of the largest Fintech conferences in the world, Money20/20, in person in Las Vegas, NV.
The energy right from the start of the show was electric with Magic Johnson as a keynote speaker during the opening night. Nearly every session throughout the show was standing-room only; whether focused on crypto, payment infrastructure, NFTs, banking, or financial security. The excitement and willingness to learn, grow and connect with other industry professionals in person was very powerful.
The “Connections Lounge” to network and set up meetings was consistently full of entrepreneurs, engineers and investors chatting about partnerships and the future of their respective industries.
RiseUp
The RiseUp Accelerator program, which has been empowering women in the Fintech industry since 2018, was a major highlight during the show. This year’s RiseUp Cohort featured the following women:
Our Conversations
We spoke with countless CEOs and tech leaders, and even had the opportunity to chat with the President of Money20/20, Tracey Davies, and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Scarlett Sieber:
NYDIG
Kelly Brewster, Chief Marketing Officer of NYDIG, shared key ideas:
BNP Paribas
Arnaud Auger explained the importance of sustainable finance:
Messari
Eric Turner shared DeFi’s powerful promise:
Deserve
Neelesh Lalwani explained how they worked with BlockFi to create the world’s first Bitcoin rewards credit card:
Highlights and Conclusion
There are almost too many to count, but our highlights of the conference included sessions from Magic Johnson, Alexis Ohanian, Danica Patrick and Alex Honnold.
In conclusion, it was great. All of it. Money20/20 was a show which reminded us the importance of physical connection. You heard it in the voice of the speakers, saw it in the eyes of the audience, and felt it in the energy of the ballrooms.
Oh, and the feeling is mutual. ❤️🔥

Today’s investrly premium edition is sent to all of our dedicated readers, thanks to our partner, Launch House, Where Founders & Creators Come Together!
We share bi-weekly commentary with premium investors on stocks/cryptos in our strategy which have appreciated and/or depreciated greatly during the past week(s). This helps to keep you informed of the most pertinent developments and what we think it means going forward.
Moderna (MRNA) -21% 📉
Moderna is one of the major coronavirus vaccination names, but that is truly only scratching the surface. Today’s announcement from Merck of an effective COVID-19 pill is both great for society and great for investors looking for a buying opportunity into Moderna. With their messenger RNA tech, being considered “the software of life,” we look at Moderna as offering potentially life-changing technology for an entire species.
We believe this current 20% sell-off is an excellent opportunity to “take a dip and buy.” Even with Moderna being up 166% the past 6 months, creating or adding to a position in the name as a long-term investment at $300-$350/share would be a strong move.
Moderna and BioNTech plummet more than 15% following news of Merck's COVID-19 antiviral pill - Markets Insider
Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) -30% 📉
Founded by Dr. Leemon Baird and Mance Harmon in 2018, Hedera Hashgraph is a public network allowing individuals and businesses to create powerful decentralized applications (DAPPS). It is designed to be a more efficient and fairer system that eliminates some of the limitations that older blockchain-based platforms face — such as slow performance and instability.
The HBAR token has a dual role within the Hedera public network. It powers the network’s smart contracts, file storage and regular transactions. Second, HBAR holders help secure the network by staking their tokens to assist with maintaining the integrity of the platform. At the token’s current price, we are bullish on the name and believe this blockchain will continue to grow their existing ecosystem of enterprise partnerships.
Incredibly fast. Predictably low fees. Finality in seconds - Hedera Hashgraph
