"I wrote this song when I was a teenager based on a horror movie concept I came up with, in which a black market funded gene engineering lab come across an ancient fossil containing a fully preserved parasite. Upon finding it, they immediately start gene splicing to create a bioweapon for black market buyers, & aptly named The Apex Parasite. However, this parasite was not of this planet, a leftover remnant of the meteor showers that ended the dinosaur age, unbeknownst to the scientists, both from negligence, lack of research & their greed.
But the engineered creature begins to show signs of intelligence increasing at an hourly rate, growing rapidly in a matter of days before destroying its enclosure, & killing all life it encounters (incl. the entire team at the compound) as it attempts to establish itself as the apex predator.
Before his death, one assistant engineer realizes the horrors of what they've made & sends an encrypted video message to the billionaire funding the twisted venture; the clean up crew is then deployed.
I kept all the demo ideas stored for many years & felt now was the time to bring this song in particular to life. I waited this long to release it simply because the necessary technology required to achieve the full vision of what this song is, and do it justice, just wasn't readily available to me... until now!"
