Iowa's hospitality industry is still recovering from the economic effects of the pandemic. The Iowa Restaurant Association has created a second organization, the Iowa Hotel & Lodging Association, to help that aspect of the hospitality industry recover. We see large numbers of "help wanted" signs across the state. One Iowa authority on wellness and human behavior points to data showing that gap between open jobs and people to fill them is based on far more than the pandemic. The Iowa Business Council has devised a list of priority areas for lawmakers to review in the 2022 legislative session.
