As Face ID being the only biometric authentication available on these devices, using it while putting a mask on is impossible. Which means you have to enter your passcode n number of times, even just to check the notifications!
Well, Apple is working on a solution to fix this situation in its new iOS upgrade, version 14.5, but only if you own an Apple Watch.
If you are an Apple fan you might be aware that this feature already exists for MacOS users, they can unlock their devices if they have an iWatch. Developers are trying to bring the same technique to iPhones. If you have your Apple Watch on, and you lift your hand to see the phone, it will make a haptic nudge to authenticate you and will automatically unlock your phone.
This option is now available for Developer Beta version users and should be publicly available in the coming weeks. Having said that, you must keep in mind –
So, if you own the latest iPhone and an Apple Watch or planning to buy one, well your Face ID issues will be gone in a blink. Rumours also hint that “iPhone 13” – may include an “in-screen fingerprint scanner”, along with Face ID for more convenience, Built-in sensors in the power button for iPad Air and more. So all Apple users might hope for more options and choices in the upcoming devices.
