Google Chrome on Android is adding a new feature called "Listen to this page," which provides built-in text-to-speech capabilities. Accessible through the three-dot overflow menu, this feature opens a mini-player with controls for playback, including adjusting the speed and selecting different voices.
McDonald's is ending its two-year test of AI-powered drive-thru ordering, developed in collaboration with IBM, across more than 100 restaurants. Microsoft has released a series of Copilot+ PCs featuring Snapdragon X chips designed for enhanced AI processing. Early tests of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Elite laptops reveal that while they excel in AI tasks, their gaming and 3D performance is underwhelming. The Snapdragon X Elite demonstrated excellent AI performance, significantly outperforming competitors like Apple's M3 and Intel's Core Ultra 7 in AI-specific benchmarks. However, in gaming tests, the Snapdragon X Elite struggled, managing only 30 FPS in games like Baldur's Gate III and Borderlands 3, and requiring low graphics settings to maintain playable performance.
Xreal has launched the Beam Pro, an advanced Android-based device designed to enhance its AR glasses. The Beam Pro features a 6.5-inch 90Hz LCD screen, dual 50MP cameras for 3D photo and video capture, and runs on a customized Android 14-based "nebulaOS" optimized for augmented reality. It supports up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and includes two USB-C ports for connecting AR glasses and charging.
The Wall Street Journal reports that despite the glamorous perception, many social media influencers struggle financially. While top influencers with millions of followers can command high fees, smaller influencers often find it challenging to secure steady income.
Adobe has updated its terms of service, clarifying that it will not use customer content to train its AI models. The changes come in response to user concerns about data privacy and ownership. Adobe emphasized that customer work remains their property and the Firefly AI models are trained only on licensed and public domain content.

ChatGPT will no longer require you to sign in to use the popular AI chat service, but there is a catch. If you choose to remain anonmymous, you can't tell OpenAI not to use your chat to help train the model and you will have more restrictive experience than if you had signed in.
