    This is a discussion of the past ways of the Maori peoples regarding
    relationships, the exhibition of sexuality, sexual intercourse and the
    perspectives of our ancestors regarding these topics.

    Many of these perspectives have been carefully contained within songs,
    haka, and stories of the maori peoples. In my homeland of the East Coast,
    the difference of these thoughts regarding the physical aspects of sex are
    apparent compared to the perspective of the pakeha, the perspective of
    christianity that has saturated the thoughts of the majority. Maori included
    in these days.

    In the words of the haka of ngati porou, ka panapana and ruaumoko as well,

    It is different today, the minds of the people have been changed by the pushing of the bible upon our ancestors.     people to one another. Perhaps there is something to see in the old ways, a love for the sacred flesh that whakapapa back to the stars that shine. The sacred love of one to another that begets again love.
