“I hear the cry of every baby that is now hungry in a community that is not yet reached, it goes to bed with me.”

That statement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness during a press briefing this morning as he assured that relief supplies are being distributed to residents affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Noting that some communities remain marooned since the passage of the Hurricane last week, Dr. Holness noted that shortly after the disaster there was a scramble for aid.

The rhapsody of the seas ship made a special call at the Port of Falmouth in Trelawny on Tuesday and delivered relief supplies, valued at one million US dollars, in support of Jamaica’s ongoing recovery efforts.

The Port Authority of Jamaica said the ship's call was exclusively for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
