A search is underway for a grade 5 student of the New Hope Primary School in Westmoreland who was washed out to sea this afternoon, during inclement weather.

Irie FM News understands that the boy was making his way home, after school was dismissed at about 2:30pm.

It's reported that he fell in a gutter and was washed out to sea.
