The rhapsody of the seas ship made a special call at the Port of Falmouth in Trelawny on Tuesday and delivered relief supplies, valued at one million US dollars, in support of Jamaica’s ongoing recovery efforts.

The Port Authority of Jamaica said the ship's call was exclusively for the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Dr. Campbell said the 'adopt a family initiative' is aimed at helping over 2,000 households.

He noted that the initiative also seeks to provide other relief items such as food, medication and school supplies.

Since Hurricane Melissa there have been reports of major flooding in Content Manchester, and Moneague and Cave Valley in St. Ann. Managing Director of the (WRA) Peter Clarke says other areas including New Market in St. Elizabeth are being monitored.

The government reported that at least 32 lives were lost due to the category 5 system.
