A Manchester farmer was shot dead at his home in Canewood District in Comfort Hall, this morning. Dead is 30-year-old Ojay Gooden. Reports indicate that at about 1:05 A.M., Gooden was home with relatives when gunmen posing as police officers kicked opened the front door and shot him multiple times.

This means tropical storm conditions pose a possible threat to Jamaica within 48 hours. In bulletin number 4, the Met Service said at 4:00 P.M. the centre of tropical storm Melissa was approximately 5 hundred and 35 kilometres southeast of morant point.
