What does it look like to have the mind of Christ?

In Philippians 2:19–24, Paul points to Timothy as a living example, a man who genuinely cared for others, whose faithfulness had been proven over time, and whose life was surrendered to the Lord’s plans and timing.

The mind of Christ isn’t formed by accident. It’s shaped through faithful discipleship, demonstrated in ordinary acts of service, and revealed in a life held open-handed before God.

Who is pouring the mind of Christ into you, and who are you pouring it into?

What does it look like when God is truly at work in us? In Philippians 2:12–18, Paul reminds us that the Christian life is neither passive nor powered by our own strength. We are called to “work out” our salvation because God Himself is at work within us, shaping our desires, strengthening our obedience, and forming the character of Christ in us.

That work becomes visible in the ordinary places of life: how we respond when things don’t go our way, how we fight sin, how we serve others, and even whether we grumble or rejoice. As God works in His people, the life of Christ becomes increasingly visible through us, and we shine like stars in a dark world.

God began the work. God is doing the work. And God will finish the work.

What does it really mean to have the mind of Christ? In Philippians 2:5–11, Paul points us to Jesus, the eternal Son of God who did not cling to His rights, but humbled Himself, took the form of a servant, and became obedient even to death on a cross. And because of His obedience, God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name. The way of Jesus challenges the way we naturally think about our rights, our position, and our need to win. Letting go is not losing. When we choose humility, service, and obedience, we are following the path Christ Himself walked.
