Progressing through the story of Esther, Kam emphasizes both the providential hand of God at work behind the scenes, and the cost often associated with standing up for Jesus instead of bowing to false gods.

Though God is not specifically mentioned in the book, His work will be evident throughout. We should keep in mind that His silence is not His absence; however bleak our circumstances, He is with us.
