Ironman and TriDot – It Was Never About Coaches Anyway

Listen Later

In this video/podcast, I discuss the recent Ironman x TriDot split and its implications for the coaching industry. Here are the key points:

  • The Breakup: TriDot ended its partnership with Ironman, pulling the Ironman U certification program and launching their own coaching institute.
  • The Real Issue: Coaches were never the priority. Both TriDot and Ironman have athletes as their primary customers, with coaches more as a means to an end.
  • Platform-Agnostic Education: Coach education should be independent of any platform. Coaches should be able to use any tools—whether pen and paper, Google Sheets, or a coaching platform—and still access high-quality education.
  • The Control Problem: When education is tied to a platform's sales funnel, it stops being about coaching and starts being about control. Coaches need education that empowers them, not locks them into one system.

I’ll dive deeper into why coach education must be platform-agnostic and what we can learn from this split.
