Spring is still in the air and flowers are inspiring Drip (Violets) and Drop (German chamomile)! 

But it’s not all flowers, fun and games. This episode’s “Weekly Annoyance” skims the surface of approaching essential oil research, studies and clinical events through the lens of curiosity and context. What started it? Recent clinical reporting of Eucalyptus essential oil and seizures. Drip has been making face oils, which are sometimes called “serums”; naturally this episode’s Hot Topic tackles the seemingly elusive definition of a “serum.”

It's the SUPER FULL PINK MOON Episode! Drip and Drop wax and wane about the lunar themes of recharging, and fluctuating energy levels. ‘Tis the season for nettles: Drop recounts recent distillation antics. The discussion rests upon how obtaining oils and hydrosols is slightly different but how process is important for both, as is setting an intention. It gets pretty heated as D&D ponder blending frankincense oils (“It’s like watering down gasoline!”) and the practice of over-charging for essential oils and products that have minimal costs associated. It figures this FULL MOON episode would center around intention, process and integrity.

This episode's topics are fundamentally about wholism, where Drip & Drop contemplate smell training followed by refined vs. unrefined plant-based products such as Drip's herbal-thyme infused yoga mat spray and Drop's love affair with unfiltered olive oil. Drop continues to obsesses over Lemongrass, which is a reminder to embrace the grasses of aromatherapy during this grassy thyme of year. 

Drip & Drop discuss “medical claims” and marketing descriptions for products & services offered under the umbrella of herbalism and aromatherapy. The Hot Topic of the day ponders the intensity of essential oils in relation to client consultations; stressing that less essential oil is always more. (Safety will always, inevitably, emerge during an episode!). Drip shares her continued obsession with Magnolia and Drop manages to conjure Kenny Rogers in relation to aromatherapy.

Drip & Drop ponder the “what’s good for a ” mindset relating to aromatic plants and aromatherapy overall. They contemplate the “less is more” approach to working with essential oils while tackling the subject of blends like “Thieves” and highly potent oils such as cinnamon bark with consensus that “MORE potent chemistry isn’t always “better”.” Last but not least is “Lilith”, the fierce warrior from biblical times whose spirit inspired a hydrosol blend that may balance the Beauty and the Dragon inside of every woman.

Join Drip (Bekki) & Drop (Amy) in their Pilot Episode of Irreverent Aromatherapy. They start off exploring nut & seed butters in relation to the fabled “Rainbow Unicorn Poop Body Butter” and Susan Parker’s book “The Power of the Seed.” Sandwiched in the middle are a few slices of safety related to diffusing essential oils and how Aromatherapy is not a lifestyle. The episode winds down with them musing about setting intentions when working with essential oils and ends with Drip's continued obsession with Magnolia.
