  • Ria Reads Psalm 105-107
These three psalms, 105, 106 and 107 recount God’s interaction with the children of Israel and relate the many mighty works that God did. Another common theme across the three chapters is the call to give thanks to the Lord.
Chapter 105 remembers God’s covenant with Abraham and describes how the people came to Egypt where they increased greatly in number and were later delivered from the oppression of Egypt by God.
Chapter 106 opens with the call to praise and thank God for He is good, and His mercy endures forever. The people enter a cycle where they sin and rebel against God, are punished and cry out to God who then delivers them because He is faithful.
Chapter 107 calls out to the redeemed of the Lord and shows God’s mercy to deliver and save from sin, distress and times of trouble.

  • Elonda Reads Ps 97-104 KJV
    Summary Ps 97-104

God continues to display His power and sovereignty.  It says “the mountains melted like wax at His Presence; The heavens declare His righteousness” We are to praise Him for His righteousness and to exhort him with thanksgiving.  Ps 102 speaks about one who is overwhelmed in distress and pours his heart out to God.  It demonstrates the love of the Father.  God wants us to come to Him in all season in our lives, rather good or bad.  We must remember that God’s mercies are renewed every day and that His mercies endure forever

  • Ria Reads Psalm 56-63
    Bible summary
When we are afraid, David reminds us in chapter 56 to put our trust in God, to praise His word and to believe that God is for us. David wrote chapter 57 when he was fleeing from Saul and hiding in the cave. He cries out for mercy, but also encourages himself in the Lord by singing praises to God.
God is just and though the wicked may seem to go unpunished, chapter 58 assures us that there is a just end to their wickedness. That theme continues in chapter 59 where David laments the pursuit of enemies who are seeking to kill him, but he calls on the Lord as his defence and refuge.
The final chapters in today’s reading call for God’s presence and declares assurance of victory with God’s help; proclaims God’s stability as the rock that is above all circumstances and ends with the soul’s longing cry for satisfaction that is found only in God.

  • Elonda Reads Ps 48-55 KJV
    Ps 48-55
Speaks of how God is worthy to be praise and. also describes Mount Zion
Addresses the rich and poor regarding trusting in wealth as opposed to trusting in God. Judgment begins on the people of God because of their neglect to worship him in thanksgiving and prayer.  Material sacrifice will never take the place of true worship
A model for prayer for repentance.  David confesses his sin, repents and asks God for forgiveness.
Demonstrates a perfect example of how to handle betrayal.  Remembering that God is greater than anything we will facing in
