The truth is that I see a lot of exceptional posts around, wonderful content.  Yet despite everything, they don't rank as they should.

The reason is very simple, It is true the Content is the King but no one says the Engagement is the Queen.

Without true engagement, your content will never rank well. I'm actually glad I figured out how to make a great optimized rank for my target in order to push my content, creating my formula.
