One of the most valuable lessons learned about being vengeful and exacting revenge on another human being is about control. I would rather have self-control than allow someone else to have control over me. I understood that once I reached a point where someone else made me upset, hurt, or mad and I could imagine harming another person was not good for me.  I realized that another person had control over my emotions and behavior. Anytime you decide you want to do something that is out of your normal character then you have allowed someone else to shift and change how you behave, and ultimately how your life choices will play out for you.

Self-control is my choice. I would rather appear weak by having the character of meekness, than actually be weak by allowing my emotions to control me. I know that the laws of sowing and reaping are real. Therefore, I will not do anything out of character that will change the trajectory of my life in a negative way over trying to save face and not be embarrassed. Many times people want to get revenge when they are hurt or upset because they don't want to be embarrassed by thinking they have to appear hard and lash out in front of others.
