Gotta win 9 of 10 right now is exactly what needs to happen. The Phillies got the win today against the White Sox to win the series now it's back home vs. the Mountains and Sailors (Rockies and Mariners). Very winnable in our honest opinions. But we first talk about the silver linings to start the first 19 games of the season and some news and notes. Good new regarding the Phillies Pride and Joy with Bryce Harper. AND Ranger will be back soon. And other than that, we really do not want to talk about these guys. Since it's been a little while, we touch briefly on the lost Fish series at home and the split with the Reds...at home. Luckily, they escaped with the series win today with an all -out performance by Trea Turner, Marsh and Walker. Needless to say, there are a lot of inconsistencies and things that this team needs badly right now. Hopefully, the offense can come alive and pitching can calm down sooner than later. But who knows, it's the Phillies. We end with talking about the Braves' and Rays' cake schedules to start the season and then onto the Pod Poll and Dad Jokes. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL!
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates! On today's pod, it's all about the Home Opener and the return to the Bank. It's good to be home and also to win 2 in a row. We win one tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before. We give a few shoutouts to start it off, more so some silver linings for the shaky start to the season. Then some concerns, well, Brandon's concern that is not really a concern, but something to watch for in tomorrow's game with Walker. Then it's smooth sailing from there with the opener and today's (Saturday) Walk-Off Win by Stott! The boys are buzzing after that as they go will bring their brooms tomorrow. And that is totally fitting for one Dad joke we have for the people. As far as buzzing goes. We also have the Pod Poll as well. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL!
It's bad. It's all bad over here. This is it everyone...the season is over. No, just our nightmares coming true to start off the season. Which we get into in this one. The Phillies are 0-2 to start things off as the pitching staff continues to show no signs of life against the Texas Rangers. The offense was good enough to win the Opening Day game, but not today. Just lackluster performances all around in the pitching staff. They need to figure things out, and quick. The offense has shown signs of the brilliance we thought it would be with the new rules in place, but just a sad showing. We go on to talk more in depth about Aaron Nola and what kind of deal he may or may not have been looking for. We also touch on the pitch clock rules and potential pitcher/batter fatigue. As well as the loser shit of how bad the behind the plate umpiring has been already. I guess we can still have hopes of a 160-2 season, right? Anyway...Enjoy, and PLAY BALL!
Welp...the title of this episode pretty much sums it up. We mainly talk the 2023 season preview, but first, we talk about the new and exciting adventure we are taking as a podcast as we hope it leads to bigger and better things. Then, we get into the heart breaking injury news of Rhys Hoskins. Yes, we know it happened a few day ago. Sue us. But that happened and we are super bummed for him for this season. The Phillies definitely lost something special. However, they do still have the pieces to tighten up and move forward. We also talk Phillies new acquisition Cristian Pache and how well he will do in the organization especially alongside Kevin Long. We try to wrap things up quickly with record predictions and season awards, but find out even quicker how unprepared we are and that we have absolutely no idea what we are talking about when it comes to the best players in the league. WHOOPS. We end the pod on a better-ish note with a good Pod Poll and some Dad Jokes as always. No let's enjoy, and PLAY BALL! SMASH THE BELL!
We're back again as Spring Training is in full swing. See what I did there? We start with the most recent contract extensions with Alvarado and Dominguez, two key pieces in this bullpen that will be around for the next few years. Then talk about Dombrowski's interview about Harper, the 5th starter spot, Bullpen, and bench pieces. Some other talk about some silly reasonable goals for teams and Mookie Betts admitting that the Red Sox stole signs with live video. We wrap up by talking about the first Phillies ballgame everyone was able to watch this year against the Yanks and it was a good all around game for the boys. The wrap up includes the new rules, mostly the pitch *timer* not clock...TIMER for some reason, and how much we hate it. We end on a Pod Poll and some Dad Jokes as always. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL!
It was and still is Bedlam At The Bank! We spend a majority of our first pod back in a while talking about all the official releases we have seen so far. We also have a very weird pod poll that came to Brandon through a golf outing and of course some dad jokes. The Phillies have been busy this offseason and in a good way. Trea Turner. Ever heard of him?! Matt Strahm & Taijuan Walker, hmmm? Painter, Abel, Griff, Rojas all big prospects trying out for the team in Spring Training. It's all gravy. They started preparing early for their World Series run for this coming season. And let us be the first to say...THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE WINNING THE 2023 WORLD SERIES!!!
Yes, we are still dancing on our own despite the World Series loss. It was a wild ride and we couldn't be more proud of the boys. Against all odds, they persevered and were able to beat the Ashtrays twice in the Series which is way more than what we deserve as fans. Although we think they could have gotten more. Now that we have been sulking for over a week, we now shift our attention to the offseason. And yes, we would love to just run it back, but there are things called contracts and guys becoming free agents. So, we take a quick dive into what Dave Dombrowski and the Phillies need to plan for, add, and offload for next season to make sure this team is more than equipped to make it back to the World Series in 2023. Said? Said. And PLAY BALL!!!
The Phillies. Did it. 11 years since their last playoff appearance and they didn't skip a beat. YOUR PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES! We talk about this wild ride we've all been on throughout this last NLCS and how proud and excited we are for the boys. It was a hard fought series. They persevered and kept coming back through everything that was thrown at them. They deserve this. So much heart. They are the hottest team in baseball right now. There's no denying it. WE AIN'T LOSIN'. SAID?! SAID. PLAY BALL!
We are STOKED Steve! STOKED! The Phillies clinch the NLCS by taking down the reigning World Champion Braves and the Philly vibes have still not come back from the movie that was this weekend in the city. The boys are buzzing. The city is buzzing. And we are here for it. We live for moments like these when all the sports in an entire city converge and support each other through it all. The Phillies are the hottest team in the yoffs right now and although it is going to be a fun NLCS with all the stories that come along with it, even the Padres will have a tough time containing the vibes. Especially for the 2, potentially 3 games back-to-back-to-back in Philly. Let's go Phillies! 8 MORE WINS TOPPER! KEEP DANCING ON YOUR OWN AND PLAY BALL!
Giggidy, that is all. We're excited. You're excited. You're Philadelphia Phillies have taken GAME 1 of this NDLS 2022 from the Braves. Absolutely incredible. Not the best stuff from the pitching staff in certain parts, but they got it done. And Nicky C, Big Dick Nick, Playoff Llanos, Playoff Nick, whatever you want to call him, is here for the playoffs. And he's excited. Ranger got himself out of a few jams and the bullpen kept them in the game for the most part. We're eating W's tonight and we're ready for Wheeler's Gem tomorrow afternoon as he face up against Kyle Wright. And we will also do our best to be back tomorrow night with our reactions. As always...PLAY BALL!!!
