Microbiologist, PhD candidate at the University of Gdańsk, Poland. Marta works on tiny bacteria with a great ultimate goal: to help fight plant diseases for better agriculture. Marta is a passionate teacher of industrial microbiology, bioscience communicator, knitting enthusiast and coffee lover. Rachel is from San Antonio, Texas where her love of music and the brain began. She is a rotating first-year graduate student and NSF Fellow in the Neurobiology and Behavior program at Columbia University. Rachel graduated with an Honors B.A. in Jazz & World music from Wellesley College in 2020. During her time at Wellesley, she studied decision making in Drosophila as a McNair Scholar and member of Sara Wasserman’s lab. She was also an active member in Wellesley BlueJazz where she sang, played the French horn, Flugel horn, and even the triangle.

Her research interests revolve around the intersection of the arts, science, and spirituality. Inspired by an independent study on Music Therapy during her Junior year of high school, she became fascinated by music’s ability to reduce stress and increase resilience in response to traumatic experiences. She is also passionate about increasing diversity in academia and mentoring scientists and musicians from underrepresented backgrounds

Outside of lab, Rachel enjoys all things related to health and wellness, self-care rituals, reading personal development books, listening to podcasts on spirituality, and of course, listening to or playing music.

Esther V. Toribio is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the State of Florida, she's a world traveled advocate, legal executive assistant and paralegal of 15 years who is the founding face, owner, and podcaster at Striving Minds Network, LLC, a mental health counseling private practice in Miami, Florida. Striving Minds Network opened its doors October 2019 and has thus focused on serving young adults (ages 20-36) specializing in the areas of anxiety, survivors of abuse/trauma, self-identity/sexuality, religious sexual shame, purity culture and heartbreak recovery all while promoting healthy SexEd and Sex Positivity. Aliyah Ewing is a rising public speaker whose ultimate goal is to see freedom for all. She speaks about the global crisis facing our world: sex trafficking, specifically trafficking in Minnesota. In addition to being an advocate against sex trafficking, Aliyah is also involved in the fight against domestic violence where she's aided victims via Annie Marie's Alliance, a non profit organization founded in 1979. Aliyah started her career in childcare which has enabled her to better communicate the importance of internet safety to younger children in her current role as a prevention and education advocate. Dr. Jessica Rabon, PhD, received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Furman University, her master's in clinical psychology from Western Carolina University and her PhD in clinical psychology from East Tennessee State University. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Virginia Treatment Center for Children and her post-doctoral fellowship with the Division of Pediatric Psychology at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. Upon completion of her fellowship, she accepted a position as a staff psychologist at the Children’s Hospital. She has developed skills and expertise working with children, adolescents, and families. She hosts the podcast "Psych Talk" where she discusses a wide variety of issues with experts in different areas and provides her own unique insight making mental health accessible.
