According to many from the Prewrath Rapture Position, the Archangel Michael fits the bill for the Restrainer of 2 Thes. 2. The texts that they use to back this assertion are found in Daniel. Still others from the Pretrib theory (MacArthur) disqualify Michael based on the Jude 9 text claiming that Michael and by extension angels, in general, do not have to power to restrain Satan or the Antichrist.
