The self-help industry is massive. It's worth billions of dollars a year. Books play a significant part in it. Books come about because someone has a story to tell and share how they made changes to their life, or the author wants to share their method of change they used for themselves or with other people. Many times it's just an opinion which they think works.
There are countless books from the days of Napoleon Hill to James Clear (Atomic Habits) and many more nowadays. Making sense of all the information and content has become a challenge.
Having a lot of choice, on the face of it, seems a good place to me. But is it? How do you know what works?
I share four areas which I think you need to consider when it comes to reading self help books:
* The science (or no science!) in the book
* The options and frequency of books
* The methodologies of each book/author
* And what do you do next?
What do you think?
