New and powerful technologies are cheaper and more efficient and it's been making a dent in worldwide employment growth over the last 10 years.  They aren’t just affecting those in manufacturing, clerical, and retail work, but also in professions once thought to be safe from such advances, such as law, financial services, education, even medicine.
