Is This It? episodes

  • Episode 3 - The Umbrella Academy (featuring Josh)

"Oh, welcome back. Where were you?" ... "Honoring a memory."

Brian, Ethan and their guest Josh pull on their jumpers and head back to boarding school to watch the season 1 finale of Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, titled "The White Violin". Highlights include three non-emo (or closeted emo?) boys trying to make sense of My Chemical Romance, a congenial debate over whether or not a monkey is a professor, and discussion of the show's colorful, misshapen cast of characters including Kristen White Wig, Yung John Goodman, and Mary J. Blige. Oh, and apparently there's some sort of Yiddish conspiracy going on? How do we get in on that?

  • Episode 2 - Yellowstone (featuring Anthony)
"God, this was not a test I was expecting."
Brian and Ethan strap on their spurs, mount their horses and hit the open range with their old pal (and first guest) Anthony. The fellas watched the Season 1 finale of Paramount Network's "prestige drama" Yellowstone, starring Mr. Bull Durham himself, Kevin Costner. The episode is titled "The Unraveling: Part Two", and it's currently only available to stream via the Paramount Network's website using a cable login (thanks Jimbo!).
Highlights of this episode include these three suburban boys trying to make any sense of ranch life, our first major edits after an unfortunate foray into regrettable territory, and a deep dive into the minds of Yellowstone fanatics with a special segment from our guest. Give this baby a listen while you're sitting on your horse (named Owen), staring off into the mountains wistfully...

  • Episode 1 - Vikings
    "I could not help myself."
Ethan and Brian watch the Season 1 finale of History's Vikings, titled "All Change" (streaming on Amazon Prime). We meander around and ramble on, trying (with mixed results) to figure out what the hell this show is going to be.
