SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 14:28 - 30

SCRIPTURE TEXT:   And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou,

bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was

come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he

saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying,

Lord, save me.

DESCRIPTION OF LESSON: Our lesson today is full of excitement. This is the

MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT, “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A

MOMENT!” This lesson is mentioned three times in the scriptures, Matthew,

Mark, and John. Jesus walked on the water. The Sea of Galilee is represented

throughout the Old and New Testament. In this passage of scripture, we can see

that God is God. He has control over the chaotic circumstances of everyday life.

Peter saw someone walking in the dark on the water and asked, “Lord if it is You bid me to

come.” Then Peter left the ship and walked on the water, he became afraid of the storm and
