Adventures With Jesus, Today

Is Your Hope Anchored To God or The World?

Listen Later

Have you ever been in a season where it feels like you’re stuck in waiting mode? You’ve been hoping, praying, and believing for something, but it just… hasn’t… happened. It’s like,

God, why is this taking so long? Have I done something wrong? Is my faith not enough?

If you’ve ever felt like this (and who hasn’t, right?), you’re not alone.

We’ve all been there—when the things we deeply desire seem out of reach. Maybe it’s that dream job, the perfect partner, or a long-awaited breakthrough. And when these hopes are delayed, it can feel like your heart is heavy and your faith is on the rocks. Proverbs 13:12 says,

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,” and boy, isn’t that the truth? It’s a recipe for discouragement, doubt, and fear.

Here’s the beautiful truth: God’s idea of fulfilling your desires is often way better than what we imagine.

He’s orchestrating things behind the scenes that we can’t see. And sometimes, He’s using the waiting period to grow us, mature us, and prepare us for the fulfillment of those desires in ways that are far beyond our understanding.

When I shifted my own hope from circumstances to God, I found joy—not in the outcome, but in His presence. And guess what? Even when the things I hoped for finally happened, it wasn’t perfect, but I had peace because my hope was anchored where it needed to be.

I know waiting is hard. But you’re not alone in this journey. God is inviting you to anchor your hope in Him and find joy even in the “not yet.” Will you accept?
