It is reported that Prophet Sheeth AS was born a few years after the death of Habil (Abel). During that period Prophet Adam AS had experienced great sorrow. His son, Qabil (Cain) had succumbed to Satan’s temptation. Qabil left following this, moving far away with his family to live elsewhere. It is said that Sheeth resembled his father greatly. After Adam’s AS death, Sheeth succeeded him, ruling in accordance with God’s law. He taught the worship of God alone, and warned of Satan’s promise to lead mankind astray, as had occurred with Adam AS, and Qabil.

Habil and Qabil, and the sacrifices that they offered to Allah SWT. There are several lessons that we can learn from this story. First: Noble intentions and a sincere heart will not only help us to get our deeds accepted by Allah SWT, but it will also enhance the quality of our worship and make us appreciate the wisdom behind every deed. Second: the story of the two sons of Prophet Adam AS teaches us a valuable lesson on the status of our hearts and how it requires constant nourishment of good values and positive characters. A heart that is void of goodness will in turn be replaced with mazmumah or negative traits such as vengeance, jealousy, enmity and hostility.

So begins the story of Adam, the first man, the first human being.  God created Adam from a handful of soil containing portions from all its varieties on Earth.  Angels were sent to earth to collect the soil that was to become Adam.  It was red, white, brown, and black; it was soft and malleable, hard and gritty; it came from the mountains and the valleys; from infertile deserts and lush fertile plains and all the natural varieties in between.  The descendants of Adam were destined to be as diverse as the handful of soil from which their ancestor was created; all have different appearances, attributes and qualities.

Iblis is a creation of Allah from the Jinn-kind.[5] He is an active and negative agent in the creation, and one whose role forms an important part of the puzzle of our lives. Allah tells us that Iblis is our biggest open enemy and represents evil; for he did not adhere to the Will and Command of Allah. Watch how it all began.

So how did it all start? The Prophet of Islam, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was asked, "O Messenger of God, where was our Lord before He created His creation?" He said: "Nothing existed but Him, with nothing beneath Him and nothing above Him." "God is the Creator of all things and He is the Guardian over all things." (Quran 39:62)

Islam teaches that God has sent prophets to humanity, in different times and places, to communicate His message. Since the beginning of time, God has sent His guidance through these chosen people. They were human beings who taught the people around them about faith in One Almighty God, and how to walk on the path of righteousness. Some prophets also revealed God's Word through books of revelation. We begin the prophet series In'sha'allah.

Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word “Allah.” For various reasons, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since “Allah” is simply the Arabic word for “God” - and there is only One God. Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus - peace be upon them all.
