Upon the Centenary (100 years) of the Destruction of the Khilafah

The opening address of the global conference by the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Ata'a bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashta upon the occasion of the centenary (100 years) of the demolition of the Khilafah.

This talk is one talk in a series of ten enlightening talks from the Global Conference to the conclusion of the month long campaign "Upon the Centenary of the Destruction of the Khilafah... Establish it, O Muslims," for the month of Rajab 1442 AH.

Our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) and the verses of Qur’an revealed in Makkah transformed the Prophet’s companions in the early days of Islam. It made them ready to sacrifice and change the world. It made them giants of Islam.

 

Islam gave them confidence, drive and desire to please Allah (swt) so they joined the Prophet’s efforts to establish it in society and see it conveyed to the world.

Today, some raise very key questions

“Are Muslims Ready for Khilafah?”

"Is the Muslim Ummah ready to take back its authority, to rule by Islam in a land, and be a leading nation in the world again?

In Islam, the importance of being accountable and responsible is paramount.

But when in our lifetime is this accountability placed upon our shoulders?

This important question is answered by this young speaker as he reminds himself and his fellow peers about the start of accountability and reminds us of why taking advantage of this responsibility in our youth.

Sultan Abdul Hamid II

He was one of the Lions of Islam. He loved Islam. He loved this Ummah and Muslims in Africa, Europe, Asia and even China loved him because they saw his efforts for Islam and Muslims. Our hero is Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the last great Khalifah of this Ummah.

Lets briefly look at his challenges, achievements and compare to other rulers.

The young man raised in the worship of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى.) is one of the seven blessed with the Shade of

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى.) on the Day or Resurrection.

The speaker reminds the youth of today that no one played a more vital role than the Muslim youth in achieving the leadership for the Ummah over mankind.  History of this Ummah is filled with glories achieved by her youth.  Such are the young men that are needed today, at a time when the Ummah is ravaged and impoverished by the enemies of Islam, from the East and the West!

The Prophet (ﷺ) came back from Al-Baqi. He had a high fever and headache. This was the beginning of his final illness. Later, leaning on his cousins Al-Fadl Ibn Abbas and Imam Ali, he entered the room of Aaisha (ra). He was in a lot of pain and sometimes would faint.

The month of Rajab overflows with events and occurrences worthy of mention, and indeed worthy of remembrance.

Rajab saw events in Islamic History which belong in the category of those which changed the course of history for mankind. One of the greatest gift this month holds is deliverance of Justice. Contrary to the current world in which we live, the Justice that Islam once provided is absent.

The speaker recalls the life under Justice and a sincere call to action for Muslims to resurrect it.

Today, Muslims are divided and our Ummah suffers across the world.

So some say “why blame the West? Maybe the fault is all our own?”

As we enter another "Black History Month", Muslims are well aware that the epidemic of racism that the world is facing clearly stems from its ideology and its institutions.   Racism is not inherent in the nature of the human being rather it is cultivated in the individual’s personality by the culture one carries.

Muslims are also well aware that Islam has a cure as witnessed by several ayahs and incidences with the Sahabah.
