Please find the outline that was preached below: The Last effort is from an inside man: (Who has not been helping with the work) (Being disconnected is Dangerous)Nehemiah 6:10-14 says this:10 Now when I went into the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was confined to his home, he said, “Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple. Let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you. They are coming to kill you by night.” 11 But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.” 12 And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, but he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 13 For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me. 14 Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, according to these things that they did, and also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who wanted to make me afraid.Nehemiah meets with this inside man who offers him counsel and a prophecy but it is not from God. It is from the enemy, what’s the test how can we discern? Deuteronomy 13:1-4 gives us some help and it says:1 “If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.If it leads you away from God and His will then no matter the signs it is not from God!The Goal was to cause Nehemiah to stumble (If the enemy cannot destroy you, don’t be surprised if they go after your reputation. INTEGRITY MATTERS) Nehemiah would rather be killed than stumble or sin. His commitment is to God and God’s work not to his own life. How many of us can honestly say that? How many of us could say with the Apostle Paul - To live is Christ and To die is gain? May we all strive for that to be true of us.Now, notice how the chapter closes: The Wall is finished 2. The Nations are afraid (How can we make God look awesome in front of the nations?) by completing the work He has given us to do. 3. Lastly even though the wall is finished (one project), but there is still more work to be done and the opposition is far from finished. "We need to REMEMBER that we are all called to the great work of Sharing the Gospel and making disciples for the glory of God and people’s greatest good. That is a great and awesome task. And with every great task some opposition should be expected whether it comes through an invitation with bad intentions, idle chatter serving to intimidate, or even through an inside man serving the enemy we should be prepared for it. May we be more equipped to see it and may God strengthen us to continue the work that He has given us both as individuals and as a Church."**Closed in Prayer
