Roots --- Joshua 2:1-11

As the genealogy goes, between David and Jesus are many stately names with good Hebrew stories. Yet each author who writes it is sure to include a Canaanite prostitute. But far from the black sheep of the family, she represents the crux of Christ's mission. People whose life probably didn't turn out how they'd hoped redefining themselves by faith; this was Rahab in Jericho, Zacchaeus in a tree, a sick woman in a crowd. Christ came for these people. And he came from these people.
