It does not take money to make money was music to my ears when I first heard it, and if it weren't true, there would be no way I'd be the entrepreneur today because I had absolutely no working capital when I started. My girlfriend and I could barely pay our rent and keep our fridge stocked with food.

My first step was real estate wholesaling. I learned that technique because I was looking for exact ways that does not take money to make money. From there I moved on to other things.
