IT in the D

After the events of last week, and rather rapidly, we were lucky enough to get Eric Thomas, Calvin Moore, Billy Strawter, and Khary Frazier in-studio to talk about not just the events of the past week, but also the touchy topic of what it's actually like to be black in America today, as well as an amazing amount of historical reference and discussion about how we got here as a society...

It was, quite simply, an amazing afternoon.  It was a long afternoon...we were in-studio for four and a half hours recording.  We're finishing up the files and getting them ready for publication...look for those later this afternoon.  So much great information, conversations, emotions...we couldn't be happier that this got pulled together, and we're looking forward to doing more of these sessions in the future.

This is the full episode.

A fun, albeit shorter than normal episode with our friends from Daily Detroit, Detroit is Different and Social Coop Media.  From our upcoming event at Firebird Tavern and the next metro Detroit podcaster meetup the first week of August, we had a couple items of business to handle, but then we dove into the week's stories and events, as well as chatting with our guests about what they're doing, why they're doing it, and why you should care about what they're doing...

Well, we learned that Calvin from Seven Point Two Tours is a wealth of knowledge about the city of Detroit, and Nick from Vault of Midnight is committed to having a great experience for experienced comic enthusiasts and newbies alike.  Lots of fun and great conversations in episode 150 of our show from the Podcast Detroit studio...

Seven Point Two Tours can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/seventwotours/

Vault of Midnight Detroit is at: https://www.facebook.com/vaultofmidnightdetroit/

The first segment was our usual round up of news, events and items that caught our eyes over the past week.  In segment two, we dove in with Calvin and learned all about Seven Point Two Tours and some interesting facts about the city that you might not know.  Segment three had us diving in with Nick from Vault of Midnight, learning all about their store downtown, how they do things a little differently than other places, and what sort of things they have going on in the store and around the area.
