Today I will finish the quick review of this series and then end with some closing thoughts. I will summarize what I find the bottom line to be.

Most of all I want to thank those who have listened. I wish you all the best as you each continue on your own journeys. Just remember: Every day is a new beginning.

  • Montage Musing Part 1

For six months now I have put my podcasts out there. It has been a meaningful journey for me and I do hope it has inspired others. Inspired others to think outside of the box, maybe to connect some dots they did not know existed. Well, that is just a bit lofty…. Moving right along. I now want to point out that there is a theme running throughout them all. In this podcast, I want to pull out those dots and attempt to show the connections.

In the end it really does not matter how I connect them. What is important is how you might ponder on some of them and reframe them to make them their own.

  • My Top 3 Top 10 Lists

There are many reasons why “Top 10” lists are popular. These reasons include: 1) They are quick and easy to read at a quick glance. 2) Someone else has done the work. 3) It can be fun to compare lists. 4) 10 is a nice round number. 5) They tell a lot about human nature. Including our own. And on it goes.

Off and on during this podcast series I have told bits and pieces about myself. This is another way to do that. Another way to share glimpses of who I am. One variation to the usual list – I will give a brief reason why each selection is on my list.

    Hope you enjoy…..

  • Essential Me Time

Is “Me Time” selfish? Well, that depends on how you use it. But there is a need for what I will call “Essential Me Time.” What makes it essential? Why is it needed? What are the benefits? How do we make it happen in this crazy life? Let’s just dig in and see what we can discover.

  • Boundless Boundaries

For the fun of it, I went to Amazon and searched for books about “boundaries.” There were 75 pages where each page displayed 16 books. That adds up to 1200 books on boundaries alone. For “depression” there were only 50 pages. For “love” there were also 75 pages. But I would argue that many of the books about love also talk about boundaries. “Mindfulness” – 50. And so on…

So, are we obsessed with boundaries? I am going with, “Yes.” Often we think of boundaries that relate to the interactions between us and other people. But there are also boundaries in other areas of our lives. I find these to be just as important. Because these boundaries can also rob you of peace and tranquility if you let them.

During this podcast we will explore: 1) Burdensome Boundaries; 2) Busting Boundaries; and 3) Boundless Boundaries.

NOTE:  The attached affirmation is there to help you get into the right frame of mind to develop those Boundless Boundaries. I suggest you listen to it before or after you listen to the podcast. Maybe both.

  • The Mindfulness Scale

How do we determine what information, what concepts are right for us? How do we know for certain that we have made a good decision, evaluated correctly? I find this be be rather complex. But, I am going to take a high level stab at it: Using that 1 to 5 scale. You know, the one venders often use when they ask for feedback.

How does that 1 to 5 scale fit into our daily lives? I had a recent experience that has caused me to ponder on this. How might this 1 to 5 scale help us evaluate new ideas, new data that constantly comes our way?

  • 3 Movies Lost In Loneliness

The thing about movies is that they often focus on one aspect of life and help you visualize what that one aspect is really all about. Movies have a way of pulling you in and making you “feel” what those people on the screen feel. You can relate.

The thing about movies is that they most often do not connect the dots between that one aspect of life and other aspects. So I find that you can get so much more out of a movie if you circle back and connect some of those dots for yourself. For this podcast I have chosen three movies about loneliness and we will see if we can connect some of those dots.

  • A Lullaby For Your Soul

What is a lullaby? Webster: “A song that is sung to bring sleep to children.” I like that. Sometimes your inner child needs a lullaby. Sometimes your soul needs a lullaby. Some time ago I wrote this poem “Hush My Soul” which is published in my Meditations book. Think of this as a lullaby for your soul.

For this podcast I expand a bit on each of the 5 stanzas I have chosen from the poem. Here I share more of what I was thinking when I first wrote the poem as well as what I have realized since.

This will be my shortest podcast ever:  Because I want you to first listen to the podcast. Then watch the attached video and ponder…. Make it your own.

  • Perception: Puzzle Perspective

Often during this series I have used the word “perspective.” Perhaps I am especially focused on this because we just had a sudden death in our family. One of those deaths that has changed everything in so many ways. Not to worry – this podcast is not going to be about death or my personal experience these last few weeks.

Because, even the smallest things need to be put into perspective or we can get stuck on them like bath water swirling down the drain.

So how do we rise above it all? Sometimes we feel guilty if we don’t focus on something that has happened. We fear that it sends the message that we don’t care.

Sometimes we are afraid to face those skeletons in the closet. We sense that will create confusion that will only make things worse.

Different circumstances call for different strategies. Let’s explore some of those strategies.

  • Polish Your Touchstones

Webster says that a touchstone is a fundamental or quintessential part of something. What are your touchstones? I do hope you have more than one. Imagine them as beautifully painted rocks in your garden of life. The thing about rocks is that they last forever. Finding them is like a treasure hunt.
