As we begin a new season together, Jesus’ words in Matthew 6 challenge us with a simple but powerful assumption: “When you fast…”—not if. In this message, we explore fasting as a normal and formative part of the Christian life, not a religious performance but a posture of consecration. Fasting reorders our desires, sharpens our ability to hear God, forms humility, and deepens our dependence on Him. We’re not fasting to be seen, to earn, or to control outcomes—we’re fasting to be shaped. This is an invitation to draw near to God, so He can shape everything that follows.
