Perhaps there are clouds in your life today. It is often helpful to see that clouds also carry rain, which is refreshing and revitalizing. Job 37:21 further tells us how “Men see not the bright light which is in the clouds.” Remember this: there is never a cloud without a bright light.

Terry Fox was a courageous dreamer who just wouldn’t give up, yet his mother Betty described him as "a very ordinary young man." And that’s what it takes to be a hero: it takes very ordinary people, like Terry Fox, or like you and me — who unselfishly attempt extra-ordinary, heroic acts of service for the sake of others.

If you are feeling defeated right now, turn to the Lord in prayer and ask Him for strength to keep getting up!

Every one of us, with all our shades of individuality, is a descendent of a single pair, Adam and Eve. Our Saviour designed us to live in harmony with His prayer that we would be one just as He and His Father are one (John 17:22), and here is the beauty about this oneness — this unity: it does not mean uniformity. Christ and His Father are two distinct persons, held together in perfect unity with the Holy Spirit by the bond of their identity: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).

During this pandemic, Canadians are spending an average of 10 hours a day sitting in front of a screen of some kind — a tablet, smart phone, TV, or computer. This is important because what you look at will change you. We want to challenge you to give the Bible a chance.

As we celebrate Canada Day with burgers, poutine, maple syrup and Nanaimo bars, may we be reminded of another celebration that is coming soon.
