For Josie, cooking has always been a passion of hers. She had a natural talent for it and was inspired to pursue it further after watching the show Hell’s Kitchen. For her, this was the ultimate challenge. She applied to season 20 of the show and was accepted, becoming one of 18 chefs vying for the title.
Josie shares some of her biggest struggles while in Hell’s Kitchen. Competing with other chefs who had more experience than her was intimidating at first, but she soon realised that she could bring something unique to the table by being vegan. Despite having some difficulty in certain challenges, Josie persevered and eventually made it to the top four before ultimately being eliminated from the competition.
Though not victorious, Josie looks back proudly at her time in Hell’s Kitchen. The experience gave the opportunities she could have never imagined – like working with Chef Gordon Ramsay himself! Being able to cook alongside him gave the invaluable advice that still sticks with her today. It also opened up lots of amazing doors that let Josie travel around the world and work as a private chef in different places.
Josie speaks passionately about how cooking can be so much more than just a job – it can be an art form and an expression of love. To succeed in this industry requires dedication, hard work, and creativity – there are no shortcuts or easy routes when it comes to becoming a successful chef!
Finally, Josie shares some wisdom for anyone looking to break into the culinary industry: stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid to take risks. Everyone’s journey is different so don’t get too hung up on comparisons or trying to keep up with others– focus instead on your own goals and enjoy every step of your journey!
