For episode #08 of Midnight Mug, I’m very happy to welcome Paris-based dj, digger and devoted record collector Raw Queen.

We’ve been following each other for years without ever actually meeting in person, connected by a shared passion for digging, discovering and sharing music. Our tastes have always felt very close, and his approach to music made him a natural guest for Midnight Mug 💿

Based in Paris, Raw Queen has built a deep collection spanning Modern Soul, Gospel, Disco, rare grooves and beyond. He is also the founder of DiscoStormy, his long-running party and residency at Djoon, where he has welcomed some of the finest international diggers and selectors over the years.

His hour feels perfectly at home in the Midnight Mug universe: deep, warm, unexpected and beautifully personal 🌌

MIDNIGHT MUG — EPISODE 07 ☕️✨

Midnight Mug is a two-hour musical journey: the first hour selected by me, followed by a guest whose musical world deserves to be explored beyond the usual club setting.

For Episode 07, I'm especially happy to welcome the Rotterdam-based DJ and selector @aysdj

I've been connected with Ays for several years, despite never having met in person. Our shared passion for discovering and sharing music immediately became a meeting point, and her genuine taste, curiosity and love for music can be felt throughout this entire selection.

A resident at Operator Radio, Ays is also the co-founder of Love Transmission, the Rotterdam party welcoming respected guests from across the international scene.

For Midnight Mug, she intentionally moved away from the idea of a conventional DJ mix and created a selection designed to be listened to and enjoyed from beginning to end. Her hour moves beautifully through jazz, gospel, boogie, fresh releases and plenty of feel-good soul.

I open the episode with the first hour, before handing things over to Ays for a deeply personal and carefully crafted musical journey.

This month, after my opening hour, I'm honoured to welcome one of Chicago's most respected selectors: @Mark-Grusane

A true digger, DJ, producer and curator, Mark has spent decades shaping dancefloors with an extraordinary knowledge of disco, house, jazz-funk, soul and countless overlooked records. His productions and re-edits are celebrated for their musical sensitivity, while his selections continue to inspire DJs and collectors around the world.

Beyond his incredible musical background, getting to know Mark through this project has been a genuine pleasure. Kind, humble and generous from our very first conversation, he immediately embraced the intimate spirit behind Midnight Mug.

This is exactly what the series is about.

Not another club mix, but an invitation to explore the music that lives beyond the dancefloor—the records that shaped an artist, influenced their journey and reveal something more personal than a peak-time set ever could.

Midnight Mug returns with Episode 05.

This month's episode opens with a tribute to the late Dexter Wansel, whose music has inspired generations of listeners, DJs and collectors around the world. A small gesture of gratitude to a true musical visionary whose legacy will continue to live on through his timeless work.

The first hour features a selection of mine, followed by a guest mix from Australia's @mehdi-elaquil

I first got to know Mehdi a few years ago when I began exploring the world of rotary mixers. As the founder of @condesaelectronics and its renowned discrete Class-A rotary mixers, he was one of the first people I reached out to. From our very first conversation, I found him to be kind, generous with his knowledge and deeply passionate about music.

Born in Kent, on the outskirts of London, to Mauritian and Moroccan heritage, Mehdi was raised on the sounds of both Morocco and Mauritius. Influenced by Jazz-Funk, Hip-Hop, Electro Boogie, Afrobeat, Soul and House music, he has been honing his craft since the early 1980s. His musical journey has taken him from Ibiza to London's vibrant club scene before eventually relocating to Australia in 2004.

Midnight Mug returns with Episode #04 ☕️🌙

The first hour features a selection by Zaffa, followed by a beautiful guest session from my dear friend Marcel Vogel — DJ, producer and founder of Lumberjacks In Hell label — which I’m honored to welcome.

When I first listened to the mix he sent me, I was honestly blown away. You can truly feel his most intimate side throughout the whole journey: warm, deep, soulful and full of emotion.

Midnight Mug – Episode 03 ☕

A late-night space built for slow listening, where the mood stays warm and each track is given the time to reveal its character. No rush, just a steady flow designed to accompany the quiet hours.

The opening hour features a personal selection moving through soulful textures, disco-leaning grooves and deep crate discoveries.

The second hour welcomes @GinoFunkGrasso, Italian DJ and passionate collector of black music, appreciated for his elegant approach to disco, funk and boogie. He’s also behind the G&D edits alongside Dino Angioletto and the Grasso Brothers project with his brother Federico Grasso, both shaped by deep digging and timeless selections.

Ease into it, keep your mug close, and let the music carry you through two hours of intimate grooves.

Midnight Mug – Episode 02 ☕

This project was born from the idea of recreating that warm, late-night radio feeling — the kind where the music unfolds slowly and every record has its moment to breathe.

As always, the first hour is my selection. Expect a journey through soulful music and deep grooves pulled from the crates.

For the second hour I’m very happy to welcome Delfonic as our guest. A brilliant producer and one of the sharpest ears in the underground, also working in A&R with Wordandsound, helping shape the flow of records reaching DJs and record shops around the world.
