This week, the 14850 Dining Report has the news that the local Domino’s Pizza has reopened under new ownership after being closed for a few days. At first, it seemed the pizza shop might be closed for longer, right on the heels of Napoli Pizzeria shutting its doors right next door in the Gateway Center building. Gateway BBQ also closed not long ago.

We’re surprised to report that the local Domino’s Pizza has closed — at least for now. The franchise owner closed up shop last week without even telling staff, who came to work to find the door locked.

It took almost a year, but this week we welcome the third Ithaca area location of Old Mexico. Their Zocalo Mexican Bar & Grill opened at the Shops at Ithaca Mall in mid April.

Here’s the 14850 Dining Report with highlights from the 21st annual Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-Off! The event had over 40 vendors on the Ithaca Commons with meaty and vegetarian chili, beer and wine, and spicy treats.
