We are exploring the local music scene here in Ithaca NY.  Located in the finger lakes and home to Cornell University this small town is full of talented musicians. We intend to ask them questions about their craft and have them perform in front of our live audience. I’m Jeff Goodmark This week we bring you Kurt Riley - this meta-pop mastermind plays punk, New Wave, glam rock and will excite you about the direction of contemporary music stay tuned to his insightful interview.  A quick note on our format. As we welcome artists to the stage they will perform 4 songs. The first song they wrote or performed with their current band. The Stories Behind The Songs: As our tagline suggests we intend to let artists and songwriters tell their stories using a scripted interview format, songwriters will have a forum to enlighten the world about what was going on for them leading up to the moment that a song was written.

Born in the heart of Texas and raised in Ithaca New York, Mijail Martínez is a singer-songwriter who lives in blended worlds. Wielding a Spanish guitar and a love of poetry, he has been spotted sputtering his Latin-Alternative, Honky-Tonk, Folk Flamenca Rumba-tinged songs in subway tunnels, cantinas, street corners and stages from NYC to Barcelona, to Mexico City to San Antonio. Together with his band—The Cantina Ramblers, he performs songs crafted in multiple languages with shows as fitting for a small listening room as they are for a dark dance hall. Sweetness and fire abound as he explores love, death, longing, and solitude using the tools of a wandering troubadour, and always with an eye on the horizon.

Progressive soul band Noon Fifteen blends rich vocal harmonies, vintage keyboard, and guitar tones, and funk-tinged bass and drum grooves into catchy, original songs that are full of surprises. Based in Ithaca, New York, the five-piece is influenced by the 1960's California and Liverpool, 1970s Memphis and New Orleans, and the DIY ethos of the internet-powered independent music scene.

A fixture in the Ithaca, NY, community for years, Thru Spectrums currently plays shows all around New York and the surrounding area. After just releasing their new record, "Process", they have been busy building a steady, loyal fanbase. Catch them live and get down with Ithaca's funkiest crew!

The Uncommons is Kelly Serbonich on vocals and percussion, Kevin Moss on guitar, keys, and vocals, and Jay Skezas on guitar, vocals, and violin, Brian Fontana on bass and vocals, and Jeff Goodmark on drums.
