Notice the word “dog” in v.13. That’s how Hazael referred to himself. This was a sad and ugly story wasn’t it!? Our world is often sad and ugly. As it has been said, we are living in a “dog-eat-dog” world. That phrase refers to people competing or fighting ruthlessly, not caring for one another, only caring about self. That sounds like Hazael! That sounds like our world today!
